Since the beginning of our church in 2015, we have desired to be a people of prayer. In this new year, may our rally cry be, “Pray First.” In every situation, whether good or bad, we try to pray before we act.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Paul says "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

Many times, people act first and then want God to bail them out of that situation, but prayer should be our first response, not our last resort.

I am challenging our church to take up this 21 Day's of Prayer challenge starting on Sunday, December 31st. Each day for 21 days we will be praying specific things for our lives, our church, and our community.
Below is a link to our 21 Days of Prayer Guide.

In additon, Pastor Kyle has challenged our church to 7 Days of Fasting.

For most of us, fasting is a bit of an unknown entity. We don't know much about it, what it's for, or how to do it.
Below are a couple of links to articles that will help you to determine what type of fast and for how long is right for you.

You will have several options for what type of fast you will participate in, and for what length of time.

You can choose one or a combination of the options. For each one of you, your week will look a little different. But for all of us, we will all be fasting from things so we can prayerfully feast on the things of God.
Option 1 - Total Food Fast. Fasting from all food and only consuming water or juices.
Option 2 - Partial Food Fast. Fasting from certain types of foods such as meat or animal products. (The Daniel Fast is an example of this)
Option 3 - Media, Activity, or Habit Fast.

You can choose to fast for a specific meal, a specific day, a few days, or all 7 days.
You can choose to do one of the fast options, or a combination of the fast options to fill up the week.

CAUTION! Please be wise in your fasting and do not participate if you have health concerns.

Fasts are difficult and take preparation and planning to be successful, so please prepare now for this challenge.Take some time to read the 2 articles below about fasting before you begin a fast.
